March 9, 2016
Now open in Morningside, Johannesburg and The Grove, Pretoria East.
Johannesburg, 18 February 2016: If there is one thing South African’s know, it’s meat. Restaurant-goers in Johannesburg and Pretoria have reason to celebrate as one of South Africa’s premier grill rooms, The Hussar Grill has made its way up north from the Western Cape. Since opening their doors in 1964 in Rondebosch, Cape Town, The Hussar Grill has maintained their multiple award-winning reputation by ensuring that quality is the cornerstone of the dining experience, from delectable, succulent cuts of meat, to an outstanding wine list and exceptional service. These have been key ingredients to an almost cult-like following of regulars.
This grillroom is a throwback to a more indulgent time, when a juicy piece of red meat was a “guilt-free” proposition. Justin Fortune: Chief Operating Officer explains, “The Hussar Grill is known for its absolute excellence; we serve only the finest Class-A grain-fed beef and game, and are passionately involved in the maturation, trimming and preparation of all grills, daily. With our attention to detail, our top notch meat is cooked and served in a way that you just cannot replicate at home”.
He says: “We are excited to be able to extend The Hussar Grill experience to Gauteng meat lovers!”
Much of The Hussar Grill’s charm lays in its timeless menu, classics such as, Fillet Béarnaise and Hollandse Biefstuk for mains; starters such as Crumbed Camembert and Creamy Chicken Livers; are the little delights one luxuriates in, at a quality grill room. Meat is wet-aged on site for up to 35 days and is served off or on the bone, before flame-grilled to your liking. For those who prefer something lighter, poultry and seafood options are on offer.
Adding to dining experience, is the Diner’s Club Platinum-rated wine list with a selection of carefully selected wines to accompany the delicious variety of meals on the menu. If patrons have a preferred bottle that is not on the menu, they are welcome to bring it along to enjoy with their meal, at no additional corkage fee. Ever!
Classically curated with its dark wood-panels, low lighting, black and white photography and plush seating – dining at The Hussar Grill is an intimate and familiar feeling. “We pride our restaurants on being a place where friends and family can come together to enjoy an authentic grill room dining experience. Our old-worldly charm has a warm and welcoming ambience, and with quality as one of the key cornerstones of the brand – we are confident that our new Gauteng clients will enjoy the nuances that have put us at the forefront of the industry, for over 50 years”, Justin concludes.
Consistency is one of the cornerstones of success, and The Hussar Grill diners can expect an extraordinary experience: a place to relax and enjoy a great meal prepared with the highest quality ingredients, and be guaranteed excellent service.
