Spur Corp’s team raises more than R600 000 through the double Century
November 28, 2019
The Coronation Double Century is regarded as South Africa’s premier endurance road race and it covers cycling 202km and a total climb of 2100m. The event starts and finishes in Swellendam and covers an incredibly scenic route. The format is a team time trial, with each team permitted a maximum for 12 riders and a minimum of six.
Spur Corporation’s team this year was led by Chief Operations Officer, Mark Farrelly who took up the challenge to ride in aid of the Spur Foundation’s Full Tummy Fund. Spur Corporation’s stakeholders were challenged to donate an amount for every kilometre that Mark and team completed. The team is made up of Spur colleagues including franchisees.
“It’s a great privilege to ride with some wonderful mates for an incredible cause, as we do our part to contribute to society. The guys pushed me, and I will definitely be doing this again” said Mark.
The Spur Foundation aims to uplift and improve the lives of South African families, especially children, in line with its core value of generosity. Our focused efforts are on early childhood development through our Full Tummy Fund.
