SPUR CORPORATION OPENS NEW HIGH STREET CONCEPT, RBW
August 25, 2015
The UK based Spur Corporation, which operates Spur Steak & Grill restaurants in the UK, has launched a new high street concept, RBW, in the heart of Corby, Northants.
The RBW Corby opening sees a new strategy from Spur, developing the business beyond its traditional shopping centre and food court territory, to introduce a smaller, counter-service high street model.
One of three restaurants within Corby’s new-build Savoy cinema complex, RBW specialises in Spur’s popular core offer of Ribs, Burgers and Wings, with a choice of sides, toppers, dips and sauces.
The ambiance is buzzy and casual, the décor featuring textured wood and warm red focal points, and a graffiti artist was commissioned to create a feature wall referencing Corby highlights and its industrial history.
Open from lunch until late, there is seating for 90, with outdoor tables in summer. Customers order by tick-box menu, to be served at table or to take away. Portions are generous and pricing keen.
RBW Spur Director, David Maich, said: “While we will continue to operate our existing Spur Steak and Grill outlets, we believe RBW is the way forward for the business. Our new model refreshes the whole Spur offer and the smaller menu allows for greater flexibility and faster service, while still delivering on freshness, quality and value for money. The concept is very exciting and we are driving hard to open three more sites before the end of the year.
“The response in Corby has been fantastic, with the cinema opening at the end of July driving further footfall and bringing in customers from out of town.”
