The Hussar Grill

The original Hussar Grill in Rondebosch first opened its legendary brass doors in 1964 and today, after 53 years of excellence, it is regarded as one of South Africa’s premier grill rooms.

The Hussar Grill, which was acquired by Spur Corporation in January 2014, enabled the group to enter and effectively compete in the higher-LSM fine dining space. The brand currently has restaurants in Western Cape, Gauteng, Eatern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal and Zambia.

Individual restaurants have managed their own procurement and now have the option of procuring through the group.

Since the acquisition, the menu was fine-tuned to focus on the quality grill room positioning of the brand, taking care to maintain the core dishes and recipes.

Having garnered a loyal following over the years, The Hussar Grill has become known for their speciality steaks and wine selection and excellent service. Their network of butchers and game farmers deliver only the finest quality  Class-A beef and wild game cuts. In addition to The Hussar Grill’s legendary beef and game cuts, the menu also offers a selection of poultry, seafood and salads as well as an assortment of desserts and quality Italian coffees.

The Hussar Grill has been rated as one of Cape Town’s best steakhouse in numerous awards recognising its high quality food and service. The brand is also recognised for its selection of wines receiving the Diners Club Platinum Award for the past 7 consecutive years. Guests are also welcome to bring their own wines at no corkage.
